Tree of Character:

A tree has grown on the wall of the main corridor by the library and office. That is the Tamarac Elementary 'Tree of Character'. 

Each month teachers and staff are given a set of symbols that change as the year progresses; for instance, fall leaves for November, mittens for December and snowflakes for January.

When a student is observed doing the 'right thing', exemplifying one of the character traits we are focusing on, an adult can give them a leaf. The student writes their name on it and hangs it on the tree. We can watch as the names of students 'caught being good' appear on the tree.
