Students leave for a trip to RussiaStudents Leave for Moscow as Part of Exchange Program

Eight Tamarac students left for Moscow today as part of the Tamarac-Moscow Russian Exchange Program started 23 years ago. Students will stay with Russian families on their nearly two-week visit, just as Russian students stay with Tamarac families when they visit. “This is an unforgettable opportunity for all of you to speak the language, experience the culture and see what life is like there,” teacher Angie Wright told students before they left. Please note, parents pay for their students to take part in the trip as do the two teachers accompanying the students. Posted 2/17/12.

To follow the district on Facebook, visit us at www.facebook.com/Brittonkill. Please note, this page is at no cost to the district. While many school districts in the Capital Region have them, Brunswick (Brittonkill) CSD is one of the first in Rensselaer County to have a Facebook page. We hope this proves to be one more tool to help our community learn about its schools and get answers to their questions. Posted 2/13/12.

Understanding New York's Property Tax Cap Law

Did you know that New York's Property Tax Cap Law does not cap a homeowner's tax bill to a 2% increase? Instead, the law that New York State passed applies to the tax levy - or the total money the district collects in property taxes - not a homeowner's tax bill. To help our community understand how the Tax Cap Law works, the district has created a webpage with information on "Understanding New York's Property Tax Cap Law" which is available by clicking here...
