Grading
Policy & Expectations

To listen to our current band songs,
and NYSSMA SOLOS: go to the
Listening Page.
Calistri's lesson schedule.
I will be providing music for use at
school as well as copies for students to practice at home. No more
forgotten music for rehearsals!
Q: How do you keep your flute from being stolen?
A: Put it in an oboe case.
Q: How do you fix a tuba?
A: With a tuba glue.
Some general band things to remember...
What to say to your teacher when you have a scheduled
band lesson: "I have a band lesson."
Do not ask "Are we doing anything important today" or "Are we
doing anything today?".
Simply state in a pleasant tone: "I have a band lesson."
-
Band is period 4 every ACE day!
-
Instruments and materials are left in the band room
at your
own risk. See Mr. C if you would like a combination lock for your band locker.
-
No gum, food, or drink in the band room. It is
bad for your instrument, poor etiquette, and could be a choking
hazard.
-
You are responsible for pulling your weight in
the band. If you need extra practice, DO IT!!!
-
Clarinet and Saxophone: You should have
at least 5 reeds (strength 3), pencil.
-
Brass: Valve oil, slide grease, pencil.
-
Percussion: 1 pair of drumsticks and 1
pair of blue yarn mallets. Label these and bring to every
rehearsal.
If you don't like Mr.
Calistri's jokes, you may submit one here!!

I am available to assist students during study halls, lunch, or after
school by appointment.
