| Our math program in kindergarten is a mixture of McGraw - Hill Mathland
programs. It emphasizes
three areas of mathematical learning: understanding concepts, mastering
basic skills, and problem solving. The central theme is relationships. We
learn to think logically about relationships between objects or ideas and
to express those thoughts. We compare numbers, shapes, patterns and events
in our lives.
Some units of study are:
- Position and Direction

- Numbers 0 - 5
- Sorting and Classifying
- Patterns
- Numbers to 10
- Data Graphing and Probability
- Numbers to 20
- Measurement
- Numbers Beyond Twenty
- Geometry and Fractions
- Money
- Time
- Addition Concepts
- Subtraction Concepts
These units are covered through the use of interesting manipulatives,
individual practice, literature, small group (center activities) and large
group participation.
