Young children enjoy experimenting, observing and exploring
to learn about their environment. They need to engage in exploration
to learn about how scientists explore. They also begin to build
science vocabulary.
Our units for science come from the Board of Cooperative Educational
Services. The units are supplemented with appropriate literature. These
kits and materials cover the following topics:
-
5 Senses Students explore, investigate and learn
about the 5 senses.
-
Sunshine, Shadows and Silhouettes Students
manipulate and study objects as they interact with light. Outside
activities are also included.
-
Classroom Plants Students plant, grow, and take
care of common plants.
-
Water Play Students freely explore, discover and
investigate water and its properties and forms.
 Students also have fun
experimenting with magnets, bubbles, cooking activities, moon phases and
learning about different animals throughout the year. We even hatch
chicken eggs in the spring!!!!!! |
